Mood Board

These selection of photos were specifically chosen from existing media products similar to our own. As you can see the majority of photos have a green or blue tint this makes the shot seem more paranormal and create a great atmosphere for the reader. As our film was based around a hand held camera I found that all these photo's can be associated with this feature. For instance, the blue image in the centre shows four surveillance  cameras located around a house. This applies to our trailer and plot because the viewer is involved with the film. The bottom left image is a good idea to express the distortion with a hand held camera and makes it seem more realistic, in addition the time superimposed in the bottom right of some images is another indication of realism. I like the green image in the top right because of the location, as it looks derelict and isolated. Finally the bottom right image shows an unusual girl in a in humane stance, to connote she has been taken over by some paranormal activity or demon. Our plot applies to the image because unusual things are happening to innocent people within the group.

Character Analysis

John Carpenter has described the character as "almost a supernatural force - a force of nature. An evil force that's loose". He has been described as pure evil, almost like a bogeyman, with superhuman strength that can’t be killed.

He wears a distinctive blank grey mask with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes, and a dirty jump suit. The main reason this character comes across so intimidating due to is large stature and hands; which are also grubby. The majority of the time Myers is seen with a huge kitchen knife grasped in his hand.

We first see Myers when he is six years old, murdering his teenage sister. We then realise he is the primary antagonist as we then follow this character, as he is six years old, murdering his teenage sister. We then realise he is the primary antagonist as we then follow this character, as he escapes Smith's Grove Sanitarium and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield 15 years later. In ‘Halloween’ he is expressed as a stalker always lurking by his next victim. The reason Myers became such a hit was the curiosity of the viewer wanting to see the man behind the mask and the reasoning behind his mass-murdering.

Synopsis of Final Trailer

Our group agreed on the idea of 'torment'. This is about a group of friends who discover a plaque, which happened to have a mysterious story behind it. Out of curiosity, the teens research the case to find a building not to far away being associated with the boy to whom was on the plaque. They decide to go 'ghost hunting' at this abandoned house and bring a cam corder to film the event. After horsing around and looking about, it comes apparent there's something else paranormal following. Things become serious quickly, and decide to ring for help only to be intervened. These supernatural happenings progressively get worse; leading in the loss of a member and the death of another. The final shot was decided to make the film have a slight edge to the rest of the generic films within this genre. Planting the idea that 'Layna' the first character to go missing from the group, is the source of the 'torment' or taken over by this unknown phenomenon. In addition, to develop the mysterious feel 'Layna' walks off into the dark, to suggest the 'torment' is still out there and keeps the viewers on their toes.
